GOOD TEETH FOREVER BY DR. GERARD F. JUDD

I have had this letter for a long time (since Dec. 28/14) and do not know where I got it from, but it has some great information that wanted to share. I just looked him up and he passed away on Feb. 17/07 at the age of 84. His knowledge and extensive research speaks for itself. He mentions a mouthwash, cepacol, which I would never use, and I make my own natural one, as well as, my own natural hand sanitizer and I will share those “recipes” in the next post.

We can all stop spending billions for American dental work and research. Let me tell you why: I have learned the real causes of dental cavities and gum infection. People, including you, will now be able to take care of their own dentistry with insignificant cost, and end with perfect teeth. Cavities and gum infections are ended!

A great amount of REPUTABLE DENTAL RESEARCH proves the following:

1. Tooth cavities will be ended simply by rinsing acids off the teeth. ACIDS ALONE EAT THE ENAMEL. THERE WOULD BE NO CAVITIES IN THE WORLD if all people rinsed acids from their teeth promptly. Just sip water, milk or other liquid while eating. Water reacts with acids.

2. Foods and drinks, other than those containing acids, have no action on tooth enamel. SUGARS HAVE NO ACTION ON THE ENAMEL.

3. Bacteria cannot damage the enamel (calcium hydroxy phosphate). There is no such thing as decay of the enamel since bacteria require carbon and hydrogen to live. Billions of human and animal remains show teeth and bones are resistant to earth-bound organisms.

4. Teeth reenamalize when clean. TO MAKE TEETH CLEAN ONE BRUSHES WITH ANY BAR SOAP. Soap washes off in just 2 rinses. What about toothpastes? Glycerine in all tooth pastes is so sticky that it takes 27 washes to get it off. Teeth brushed with any toothpaste are coated with a film and CANNOT PROPERLY REENAMELIZE.

5. Taking calcium and phosphate in the diet results in reenamelization of the teeth, but only when they are clean. Bar soap does a perfect job in cleaning the surface. The enamel thickens and becomes less sensitive. Adenosine diphosphatase furnishes phosphate to teeth.

6. Gums are disinfected by brushing with any bar soap. Not only bacteria and viruses are destroyed promptly by small amounts of soap in water, but also white flies and aphids. Gardeners: Spray 1 tsp of dishwashing soap in 1 gallon of water to kill white flies and aphids.

7. Plaque, a poorly formed crystal stuck to the bottom of the enamel, is prevented and eventually removed by brushing with bar soap. Dental procedures to get the badly formed crystals off dig holes through the enamel. These cavities catch food and cause gum infection.

8. Prevention of plaque retards gum pockets. GUM POCKETS are formed as the plaque pushes the gums away from the teeth. GUM POCKETS, from 1 to 8 mm deep, ARE ALSO FORMED BY FLUORIDE, WHICH SEVERS THE PROTEIN MOLECULES ADHERING THE GUMS TO THE TEETH. SOAP PREVENTS GINGIVITIS caused by bacteria which is lodged in the gum pockets.

9. VITAMIN C AND PHOSPHATE help knit the gums back to the teeth. Pressing against the gums with fingers forces adhesive materials from the gums onto the teeth, which helps the process. Abscesses can be offset by holding Cepacol (14% alcohol) in the mouth 5 minutes.

10. “Receding gum” surgery will end when the GUM POCKETS cease. The very mention of the procedure, which involves transferring flesh from the roof of the mouth to the excised area of the gums, is a heinous and useless procedure which ought to pass into oblivion.

11. REMOVAL OF FLUORIDE FROM DRINKING WATER, PASTES OR GELS SAVES THE ENZYME ADENOSINE DIPHOSPHATASE so it can deliver phosphate to calcium at the tooth surface, RESULTING IN A BEAUTIFUL, SEMI-FLEXIBLE ENAMEL.

12. As stated above, THE GUMS CAN BE RECONNECTED TO THE TEETH BY TAKING VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID) (1 tsp) with Arm and Hammer baking soda (1/2 tsp) in 1 inch of water, letting it fizz and then diluting to 1/2 to 1 cup with water, then drinking. The resulting SODIUM ASCORBATE is non-acid, very pure and a thousand times more soluble than vitamin C. SODIUM ASCORBATE IS MORE REACTIVE THAN ASCORBIC ACID (C) in building connective tissue and antibody structures and more effective in killing some viruses and bacteria.

13. Receding gums and plaque are ended when soap is used for brushing and VITAMIN C IS TAKEN DAILY AS DESCRIBED IN #12.

14. 30% of American youths ages 8-10 have no cavities. 100% of Ugandan youths ages 6-10 have no cavities. What does this tell us?

15. THE REASON UGANDAN YOUTHS HAVE 3 TIMES BETTER TEETH THAN AMERICAN YOUTHS IS BECAUSE they do not consume as many acid foods. have no fluoride in their drinking water, have regular meals rather than sipping acid drinks all day, have more calcium and phosphate in their diet, and have fewer dentists to “WORK ON” their teeth.

16. DENTAL LITERATURE says 42% OF AMERICANS OVER 65 HAVE NO NATURAL TEETH while 25% OF THOSE OVER 43 HAVE NONE.

17. Dental literature says AMERICANS AGE 43 AVERAGE 32 CAVITIES, those AGE 17 HAVE 13 CAVITIES, blacks and poverty stricken (without calcium and phosphate) have twice this and the native Americans have four times this amount. The NATIVE AMERICAN PLIGHT CAN BE BLAMED ON THEIR POOR NUTRITION, EXCESSIVE FLUORIDATION AND FREE BUT IMPROPER DENTAL CARE.

18. IF FLUORIDATION WERE EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING CAVITIES, NATIVE AMERICANS WOULD HAVE THE LEAST CAVITIES OF ANY GROUP. THEY HAVE HAD FORCED FLUORIDATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 62 YEARS.

19. Spokesmen for national groups are beginning to notice AN ALARMING RISE IN CAVITIES AMONG CHILDREN AND TEENS. Same dentists recommend DENTAL SEALANTS, especially for older teens not previously considered candidates for the treatment. But if sealants are now ordered, AREN’T DENTISTS ADMITTING NO CONFIDENCE IN THE ABILITY OF FLUORIDE TO PREVENT CAVITIES?

20. FLUORIDE in water at I part per million INCREASED TOOTH CAVITIES in four large reliable studies 7.22.45 and 10% (average 21 %). The reason far these increases has to do with the fact that adenosine diphosphatase is destroyed by fluoride and CALCIUM FLUORIDE which slips into the enamel, IS ALIEN TO THE TOOTH COMPOSITE AND MAKES THE ENAMEL WEAK, BRITTLE AND DISCOLORED.

21. THE HEALTH OF AMERICAN TEETH WILL INCREASE TO BE VERY NEARLY PERFECT if the regimen of WATER RINSING, SOAP BRUSHING AND TAKING

CALCIUM, PHOSPHATE AND VITAMIN C IN THE DIET is implemented.

22. Fortunately, we now know the current ‘teeth perfecting protocol” of dentistry with fluoridation is flawed. IF THE EARLY ESTIMATES OF 80% TOOTH IMPROVEMENT IN CHILDRENS’ TEETH BY AGE 13 WERE TRUE, EACH AMERICAN WOULD NOW HAVE LESS THAN ONE CAVITY. That is far from true. The teeth in America are in a sorry state, AND AT THE PRESENT TIME ARE GETTING WORSE.

23. Numerous top scientists over the past 60 years have discarded the theory that fluoride helps teeth, or is a nutrient helpful to man

24. TO AVOID FLUORIDE IS TO PREVENT MORE THAN 114 AILMENTS listed with references in a book Good Teeth Birth to Death by Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D.. These 114 MEDICAL SIDE EFFECTS extend all the way from cancer down to headaches CAUSED BY 1 PPM FLUORIDE IN THE WATER. Thirteen of these side effects are proved by a double blind study on 60 patients by 12 physicians, 1 pharmacist and 1 attorney.

25. The mechanism for destruction of enzymes by fluoride has been proven by x-ray studies. Hydrogen bonds are broken by fluoride.

26. Fluoride is the smallest negative particle on the face of the earth. Since the FLUORIDE PARTICLES ARE SO SMALL and so intensely negative, THEY CONNECT WITH THE HYDROGEN BONDS HOLDING THE ENZYME COILS IN PLACE and ruin every enzyme molecule at very low concentration, around 1-3 ppm. These enzymes are often 3,000 or more times the small size of the fluoride. The effect is ruinous.

27. To avoid fluoride is to prevent the destruction of 83 enzymes listed with references in Good Teeth, Birth to Death, by Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D.. FLUORIDE IS A SEVERE BIOLOGICAL POISON. Being intensely negative, it unlatches positive hydrogen bonds in enzymes AND proteins.

28. It is fortunate we have learned fluoride is a nerve poison. FLUORIDE CAUSES CAVITIES. There is not the slightest doubt.

29. Methylmercury formed from amalgams in the body is deadly. It causes brain disease. Fillings made of quartzite and epoxy are a safe substitute.

30. Fluoride harms the economy by MAKING PEOPLE PURCHASE OTHER THAN CITY WATER to avoid it. It also harms the economy by making people dependent an undependable professions that know nothing about it. Ignorance about fluoride and what it does is worldwide.

31. Keep the teeth moist. Teeth that are dry “craze” (crack). If you chew ice, teeth may crumble. Teeth do have a breaking strength.

32. LOOK IN YOUR MOUTH. Tell the dentist(s) what you want done and get several bids for examination and work. Save your fortunes.

We now know we can cancel the green light given by Harry Truman with the help of Congress TO SUBSIDIZE DENTISTRY. BILLIONS OF DOLLARS BEING WASTED in this regard (Public Law 755, June 24,1948) CAN NOW BE RETURNED TO THE TAXPAYERS.

I hope you will put this information in the hands of your Congress persons so they and we may alert the newspapers, radio and TV stations, magazines, and all other news media as well as their friends, families, and associates about this giant leap in dental technology.

I Have Come To A Conclusion – Not A Novel Idea! Part 4 

Continuing with my experiences of using the power of the mind to overcome, as really and truly we can withstand a lot more than we realize, if we put our mind to it with full intention, attention and focus. That is the “key” I found that helped each time I was faced with a different circumstance.

This 2nd experience I had was about 25 years ago, when I went to a holistic dentist who specializes in removal of silver fillings. It is done in a special way so the vapors from the mercury will not go back into my body and use a long tube that goes out the window and goes around the mouth, as they drill out the filling. The dentist asked if I wanted novocaine and I refused. I proceeded to close my eyes and was doing breath meditation while the procedure was taking place. The dentist kept prompting me if I wanted the injection and shook my head no, even when showed me with a mirror that would have to drill deep for one of the molars and found decay underneath it.

I kept focusing on my breath and continued with a cycle of breathing in/breathing out without stopping. The dentist was so amazed that I didn’t take the numbing medication and that I was doing fine. I will never forget what he said, “I will be more traumatized then you, when we are done.” I took no shots, had no numbness and no pain, either. All I felt as the procedure was going on, was like a pin prick in my mouth.

You may think this sounds impossible, but the dentist was there, as well as his assistant and they can attest that it is 100% true.  I know that had I not been doing the meditation and remained fully focused every second and in the “zone,” I would probably have screamed in pain and asked for the anesthetic right away. Anyone is capable of it, as I have no special powers, talents or abilities. It is more about telling your brain not to feel the pain, by shifting your focus to something else, other than what is happening, such as doing the breathing meditation, but could have also been something else. The reason I use the breath, as to me that is the easiest/best option. That got me out of the state of connecting to what was going on, namely the dental procedure and instead put all my attention to my breathing.

It is amazing to me to be living proof that it does work, since I experimented with it on myself and was successful. I can not guarantee it will work for everyone, but it is possible and the most crucial thing is not removing your attention/focus to your breathing for even a second. It has to be continual & constant without fail.

We all have abilities greater than we realize, if we’d only tap into them and there is something behind that, but I am not ready to reveal what that is all about yet. I have one more story of what I experienced with a research study I participated in and how it resulted in an article being published in a medical journal.

Here’s a question that a reader sent us:

Hello,
1- Can fruit mess up with your insulin levels?
2- Can so much fruit cause diabetes?
3- Can you get hypoglycemia if you eat a lot of fruit for years and years?

I have problems with numbers 1 and 3; even McDougall recommends no more than 2 fruits/day because there is too much fruit sugar in them; what about Gabriel Cousens and so many others who say that fructose can mess up a lot, and we should focus on greens (with fats so we can absorb the vitamins)?

All three of those scenarios you mention are blood-sugar metabolic disorders, and it pays to understand your physiology to understand how these disorders are created.

In most cases, these diseases are caused by an excess of fat, NOT sugar, in the diet. Or rather, a combination of the two.

My number one question for you, Ilse, and anyone else experiencing dizziness after eating fruit would be how much fat are you eating in your diet?

I would encourage you to track your intake of fat, carbohydrates, and protein to make sure that you are not going over 10% of calories from fat.

If you are having blood sugar problems, then it is highly likely you are overeating fat, even if they are ‘healthy’ whole fats. Too much of anything can be harmful.

The problem arises when an excess of fat in your diet coats every single cell of your body, including your insulin receptor sites. This means that glucose (converted from EVERY food – not just fruit) cannot be transported effectively into your cells and therefore stays circulating in the bloodstream.

If you are eating a high-fat raw food diet, such as Gabriel Cousens promotes, then it would certainly be dangerous to overeat fruit. Same thing with a high fat standard western diet.

However, if you keep your fats low, then large quantities of fruit are highly beneficial.

My experience is a case in point. I used to suffer from horrible blood sugar swings and also candida (a blood-sugar metabolic disorder). I no longer experience either of these things and whenever I get tested my fasting glucose is always absolutely normal.

To get an accurate picture of what you’re consuming in terms of fats, protein, and carbohydrates you need to be tracking your food for 3-7 days minimum.

Traditional Indian food and many dishes from South China and Malaysia combine turmeric in curry dishes. Since a turmeric shot is a water-based drink, its absorption from digestion is weak. However, turmeric is healthy for the intestinal tract when not absorbed. That’s likely the advantage of turmeric shots.

Turmeric works synergistically with ginger root. In fact, they belong to the same plant family Zingiberaceae. Adding fresh ginger to a turmeric shot balances and energizes the mixture, and enhances the flavor.

Fresh turmeric rhizomes are pencil thin and about two inches long. Since less than 3% of fresh turmeric contains curcumin, the active compound, you have to use several rhizomes per shot. To make a turmeric power shot, add curcumin powder.

How to Make a Turmeric Power Shot:
Combine fresh peeled turmeric and ginger rhizomes in a blender with pure water or coconut juice. Use a NutriBullet or other high-speed blender, blend for a few minutes.
To boost effectiveness, add 500-1000 mg of 95% curcumin extract powder.
Add fresh lemon, raw honey, or sea salt, to balance the flavor.
If you like it hot, sprinkle a dash of black pepper or cayenne powder on top!
To increase the bioavailability of raw turmeric, try blending your power shot with a dash of fresh ground black pepper and a teaspoon of coconut butter.

Bottom Line On Raw Turmeric

One of nature’s most valuable herbs for human health, turmeric is considered safe to take daily. But, very high concentrations of curcumin extract may damage DNA and suppress immunity. Turmeric shots are well-tolerated in the digestive tract, producing a warm, comfortable feeling in the belly, and rarely causes a queasy stomach.

Why Your Dentist’s Advice SUCKS by Frederic Patenaude

Ever since our childhood, we’ve heard the same basic advice about dental health, which can be summarized as follows:

“Brush after meals, floss daily, avoid sweets and see your dentist every year.”

It turns out that this advice is in large part useless and does not truly work.

How do I know this?

You could consider the fact that dentists get a never-ending stream of business from people who have tried to follow this advice to the best of their ability and yet find themselves fixing more and more problems.

I’ve also had a personal journey that led me to question this precept.

I already told you about my dental problems that started in my early days of following a raw food diet.

In summary, once I started getting cavities, it seemed to be a problem that standard dental advice could not solve.

I thought I was everything right. I was brushing my teeth religiously. I had eliminated most of the raw junk food I was eating before.

I thought… “Things will be much better on my next dentist’s appointment.”

But they only got worse!

That’s what led me on a personal quest, to find out what I could to stop this in myself and others, and never get another cavity or dental problem again.

What I Discovered In My Research

First, I interviewed about half a dozen dentists, who seemed incapable of giving me a single piece of advice I hadn’t already heard before.

Don’t eat sweets

Brush after every meal

Use a fluoride toothpaste (some avoided this and told me the opposite)

Eat a small piece of cheese after every meal, to neutralize the acidity
Etc.

I was trying my best to apply these so-called principles of dental hygiene, but things were not progressing in the right direction.

And I was worried.

Because dental disease may start with cavities, but it eventually progresses to worst stages. Gums are affected, pockets form, inflammation starts, and teeth are eventually at risk of falling out.

I did NOT want any of that to happen to me.

One day, I came across a program by a certain Dr. Nara on how to prevent dental problems for life. Dr. Nara was a controversial dentist who ran into some trouble with the dentist associations by writing about the actual cause of dental disease and also teaching people how to become dentally self-sufficient.

I tried Dr. Nara’s methods, and they worked! In fact, my dentist was totally shocked by the results.

That was about ten years ago, and since then, I have carefully applied Dr. Nara’s advice while continuing to research the topic. I now believe that the entire field of dentistry has misled the public for years by never truly explaining the real cause of dental problems and how to not only prevent them but also reverse them.

I wanted to share this research with my readers. So years ago, I worked with the publishers of Dr. Nara’s books to acquire the rights to the books, so I could spread this controversial knowledge to more people.

Why Health Foods Can Cause Dental Problems

In my last email, I did not fully answer the question: can healthy foods be bad for teeth?

The answer is yes.

A Germany study, published in 1999, even proved that raw foodists experience more dental erosion than the general population.

Why is that?

The enemy, the acid-producing bacteria that causes dental decay, organize into colonies. Once they get entrenched, it’s very hard to get them out into a free-flowing state where they can’t cause much damage.

The fire is the bacterial count.

The fuel is the foods we eat, especially simple sugars that are common in raw food diet.

The cavity-causing bacteria thrive in an acidic environment.

What’s necessary to turn the situation around is to shift the oral environment to an alkaline state, and drop the bacterial count to a level where they can’t cause much damage.

When that happens, it won’t matter if you eat dates all day.

So although the precipitating factor is the introduction of more sugar (even the natural kind), the real problem are the underlying issues: the acidic oral environment and bacterial count.

The only way to prevent dental decay for life and reverse the situation is to take active control of your oral environment and turn it from acidic to alkaline. Just controlling your diet does not address the root of the problem.

3 Common Myths About Blood Testing by Frederic Patenaude

Whenever I post my blood test results, I always get lots of comments from my readers, and I often notice that there are a lot of myths running around about blood tests.

These myths have been circulating in the natural health world for a while, so I think it’s important to spell some of them out and hopefully help you understand how powerful it is to have blood testing in your disease-prevention corner.

I have to be clear before I start that blood testing is an essential tool to determining how your body is reacting to your environment, but testing isn’t the only marker of good health – it’s one of many.

1. MYTH: Blood tests don’t mean anything because the levels are inaccurate and based on unhealthy people. I feel healthy, so I don’t need them.

I used to believe this statement.

I believed it so strongly that I resisted blood tests even when I wasn’t feeling good.

By the time I got my first blood tests, I was deficient in many things – I was even outside some of the clinical ranges for unhealthy people.

Apparently my belief system and what I was doing was flawed.

When I started to break down my belief about blood testing, I began to understand some of the things I was fighting against.

First, I was fighting against the medical institution. My thought was this: much of what they do is wrong, so blood testing must be wrong too.

Second, I knew the levels were based on a sample of the general population so they were of no interest to me, since I was “healthy.” (This belief is partially true – at least the general population part.)

Third, I didn’t want to see any results that would go against the diet I was eating, because I was so strongly stuck in the dogma of it. I wasn’t going to change anyway.

You may have had some of these same beliefs – you may still have them.

It wasn’t until after my own health challenges that I looked at my beliefs objectively.

Only then, was I able to understand where I went wrong and why my beliefs were getting in the way of my best health.

Here’s what I realized…

Just because I was angry at the medical institution, didn’t mean that there is nothing valuable that has come from our science of medicine.

I was filtering everything in black and white.

Natural = good.
Medical = bad.
This is clearly not the case.

Blood tests can accurately show clinical disease as well as give you an idea of where you’re trending over the period of months and years.

The trick is you need to find a practitioner trained in functional medicine or preventative medicine who can read optimal levels, not clinical levels.

For those who don’t understand what this means…

Clinical levels are guidelines that determine if you can be clinically diagnosed with a disease. Optimal levels are based on clinical experience and can be much different than the clinical levels.

Knowing these optimal levels also helps to transcend the “general population” myth as well. The numbers on the lab worksheet tell a story about everyone, you just need to know how to read them.

2. MYTH: All doctors know how to read blood tests.

This second myth goes hand in hand with the first one, but I think it needs to be addressed separately.

Many people who find natural health do so because they’ve been ticked off (probably a nice word for it) by their doctor. They have symptoms and no one can tell that what is wrong.

Their doctor has ordered some blood tests and told them nothing is wrong, but they still feel tired or weak or worse.

What has happened here is not a failure of the blood test (which some people assume), it’s a failure of the medical education system.

There is plenty of knowledge about how to accurately and appropriately use blood tests (as well as others like saliva and urine) to treat patients who don’t fit into the medical model of disease.

The challenge is that this model is not being taught in medical schools.

So to think that just because one doctor or one failure of the system is enough to lose complete faith is not a particularly strong argument.

3. MYTH: Getting tested once is just a snapshot of my blood, it won’t mean anything…

This maybe isn’t a myth because it’s correct.

What’s incorrect is that this shouldn’t stop you from getting your blood tested.

Getting tested more than once and on a regular basis provides you with true and valuable information about your health. One time is not enough if you want the best preventative approach.

Look at it this way…

If you were to look at one day of a day trader’s stock ticker, you’d think that the market was crashing and rebounding every 6 minutes.

But if you take a look at the 5 year trend of the market, you can see very clearly where there was financial wealth and where there were problems.

Same with blood testing. If you have just one test, it gives you a snapshot, but not an overall picture of health. (There also could be lab error in this test as well.)

Regular testing establishes a pattern that you can read to understand how your health is trending for the long term – are you moving toward great health, or slowly (maybe quickly) moving toward deficiency and disease.

7 Lies About Dental Health by Frederic Patenaude

Over the years, I’ve talked to hundreds of people who have experienced severe dental problems after changing their diet to a high-raw one. Even without a diet change, dental problems are very common and very costly.

After the age of 60, you can expect your dental costs to be at least what they’ve been up to that point in your life for your remaining years!

So if you’ve spent 20K on your teeth in your life up until 60, and you live another 25 years, you should expect to pay as a minimum another 20K over that period.

That’s on top of the pain, humiliation and disability that comes with bad teeth.

So let’s take a look at seven misconceptions regarding dental health that we should throw away once and for all.

#1. You should brush after every meal

Many people brush and floss after every meal and still end up with more decay and periodontal disease. This belief is rei nforced after every visit to the dentist when they hand your “gift”: a toothbrush and some floss.

What the research has shown is that brushing after every meal does not prevent dental problems. It’s the QUALITY of your brushing and cleaning that makes a difference.

You could brush only once a day or even once every few days. If this cleaning session is done correctly, that’s what will prevent and reverse dental disasters. (That being said, I don’t recommend waiting a few days, but some research shows that it works if the cleaning is thorough enough!)

#2. You always have to repairs cavities

Most dentist will want to drill your teeth at the first sign of decay. But recent research showed that it’s possible to stop cavities dead in their tracks if you catch them young enough.

Of course, drilling and repairing teeth is better than NOT doing anything.

But natural ly reversing a cavity is still the better way to go.

What you can do is ask your dentist when you absolutely have to repair the tooth. Usually, they’ll say that it’s okay to wait a few months but that you shouldn’t wait too long.

Then, use what you’ve learned in How to Heal and Prevent Dental Disasters to stop the cavity. When you go back, you might not have to do anything, as had happened to me ten years ago when I discovered this program!

#3. Sugar and carbohydrates are the cause

We think that sugar causes caries, but completely avoiding it is impossible. Even vegetables contain natural sugar, which the bacteria that cause dental disease LOVE just as much as artificial sugar.

In a previous ezine, I mentioned how the “primitive” Hawaiians ate a diet that was composed of 75-80% carbohydrates, including plenty of simple sugars. When Captain Cook discovered them in the late 18th century, they did not have any dental disease!

Sugar may be the fuel, but it’s not the cause of the disease. Remove the cause and the fuel won’t start a fire.

#4. Natural products work

Unfortunately, many people turn to natural solutions only to make their dental health worse. The health food stores are full of natural products that don’t work.

Tea tree oil is one such product. It has absolutely no proven benefits in reversing periodontal disease, yet it’s included in many natural kinds of toothpaste.

This is all marketing and only serves the companies that sell those products.

#5. Toothpaste is necessary

Whether you go the natural way or not, you’ll probably want to use some toothpaste. This is not a bad idea, depending on what you choose, but many brands contain ingredients that cause problems, such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

In reality, the abrasive ingredient in toothpaste (usually calcium carbonate) helps to remove stains and keep your teeth whiter. But that’s only cosmetic and won’t affect your dental health. Almost everything else in toothpaste is usually unnecessary!

#6. Flossing is critical

Recently we heard the news that flossing is one of the most unproven health recommendations ever made. No research has ever shown that flossing is effective. But it’s one of the most common dental health recommendations.

Don’t get me wrong: I think most people should at least floss. But for others, flossing won’t help. They’ll need to use something more effective instead.

#7. If you don’t brush your teeth you’ll have bad breath

You’ll often hear people say that they must have bad breath because they haven’t brushed their teeth in a while, like when traveling by plane.

In reality, bad breath is usually caused by a bad diet or periodontal disease — two things that brushing teeth can’t fix.

Like I said before, it’s not about how often you brush but how well you not only brush but follow a routine that works in preventing and reversing dental disasters.

So you could travel and not clean your teeth for nearly 24 hours, and you won’t have bad breath. Whereas someone else could brush all the time and still, have bad breath.
