I do not have much time anymore for writing new articles to post and have not done any new Q & A interviews with companies. Hopefully will have time at some point to do so.

Gaiam: Products catered toward Healthy and Sustainable Living

Gaiam: “Simple Choices Make a Difference” in business since 1988

The quote above is registered to Gaiam.

History of Gaiam – from Wikipedia

Gaiam was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1988 by Jirka Rysavy, a few years after he founded Corporate Express to market recycled paper products. At that time, Rysavy was involved in three separate LOHAS (Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability) companies, all within one block of each other in Boulder, Colorado. His vision was to serve the “conscious consumer”, a group subsequently named the “Cultural Creatives” by sociologist Paul Ray in 1996. Ray’s research distinguished a group of educated consumers who make purchasing decisions based on their values. Paul Ray now serves on Gaiam’s board of directors.

Originally a catalog business, Gaiam now has products in stores worldwide (Target, Borders Books, Whole Foods Market), and is growing a strong e-commerce sales channel as well. Gaiam catalogs include:

Harmony (environmentally friendly home and lifestyle products)
Living Arts (fitness, wellness and personal development)
Real Goods (solar living products)
Explorations (consciousness and spirituality related media).

I have been shopping with Gaiam for a long time, at least 10 years or so. They have a strong commitment to healthy and sustainable living. They sells clothes made of eco fibers, including: organic cotton, bamboo, upcycled, recycled, etc. Their products are high quality and some made exclusively for them. They have really expanded the choices for women’s clothing over the years. They also sell home goods, yoga, wellness and fitness products, videos and men’s clothing.

They have a top notch satisfaction guarantee that is 100% hassle free! If you are ever not completely satisfied with your purchase you can return it and get a full refund. If it is their error (wrong product sent, damaged, etc) then the shipping is paid by Gaiam, otherwise you pay for it. Always keep your receipts (even years later, if the product is no longer being sold, you can still return it with no problem). When you call customer service, they are very considerate and helpful. I recently called them for a product I wanted to purchase, as I needed to apply some coupon codes that were not working for me on their internet site. The representative was happy to help and placed the order for me over the phone.

I did a review on my youtube channel of the product I recently purchased. Check it out here:

Disclaimer: I was not sponsored to write this review. These are strictly my opinions. I only review products that I, myself would use and purchase.

To find out more about this company go to: http://www.gaiam.com or call 1-800-254-8464. They can mail you a printed catalog, if you like.
