You may have heard of The S.O.S. Free Plan (and I don’t mean the distress signal) what about The S.O.S.O. Free Plan™?

You may have heard of The S.O.S. Free Plan (and I don’t mean the distress signal) what about The S.O.S.O. Free Plan™?

Maybe or maybe not, but the S.O.S. I am referring to is an adaptation of your vegan food plan that eliminates Salt, Oil and Sugar. I say this because I am a whole food vegan and in the S.A.D {Standard American Diet} world, I don’t believe they could care less about this, sad to say. It is used by True North Health Center in California and others.

I, myself, have done various cleanses and fasts that documented on my blog (including coconut water cleanses, water fasts and dry fasting) and now I am trying something different. I got an email last month from Frederic Patenaude and subscribe to his posts, as he always has interesting information to share, as well as the knowledge he has culled from many years in the natural foods world. I don’t necessarily need to go on a “diet” to lose weight and detest that word anyway, because connotes going on and off something and I ascribe to be on a program that is constant, consistent and for the long term, where get results and don’t yo-yo back and forth, as it’s harmful to the health.

Here is a link to Frederic’s article:

So what I decided to do and coined a new term, is The S.O.S.O. Free Plan™
What is that? Similar to the S.O.S. program, but I added no overt fats to it. Dr. Doug Graham recommends, to eat minimal added fats, but I’m not saying this is good for everyone, although when you read the link to the article above there is a comment on the bottom about someone who has been eating very low fat for a long time and has had good results.

Frederic mentioned that the body needs 90 days to adapt, so I decides to try this for the next 3 months, but do it 1 day at a time and then progress from there. I do eat whole food plant based, but I have done more snacking (but everything is food based) in the last number of years and have gotten lax with not consuming oils when buy products, although do not use it for my own food preparation. Also, used packaged products with cane sugar, maple syrup, salt and would like to eliminate them from my food plan and get back to eating foods in their natural wholesome state and not buy packaged products or minimize them at best. There is 1 item that has a minimal amount of salt that will be consuming because I do eat Food for Life Ezekiel Sprouted Tortillas for The Sabbath and Holydays, as it is the best out there because is flourless and without added oil. Other then that will be keeping to this 100%, G-d willing. This means will have to add more volume of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans to make up for the things will not be consuming.

Here’s a list of what will not be eliminating:
1- Oils – since do not cook with it, means products that use it as an ingredient
2- Nut butters
3- Nuts and Seeds
4- Avocados
5- Vegan Yogurt – as all are made with nuts and usually added salt, as well
6- Salt
7- Sugar (except for stevia which is not a sugar and make also look to get yacon syrup or if can find yacon powder, as is not a sugar, but from a Peruvian root that happens to be sweet and is also a prebiotic)
8- Coconuts

I am not saying it is going to be easy, as my body has to “detox” off of those items and I may feel a lack of satisfaction in my daily consumption and also there is the mental, emotional and psychological brain chemical reactions to consider, as well. As I said above, will simply be adding more volume of the other foods and actually, when you look at the cost of buying organic produce it seems expensive, but really it is not, it’s what you buy that is packaged, canned, boxed, etc that costs more because the price gets “bumped up” or inflated from the time the company makes it till it comes to the store, as everyone wants a “piece of the action” to make a profit. I am also used to grabbing a quick nutrient dense snack at work of a whole food bar and all of them have something that will be eliminating, so will have to have other snacks instead.

What I plan to do is document my experiences during this time on my blog. I am not sure will have time to do it daily, but will do my best to share with you what happene on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and psychological.

Look forward to sharing with you, as I embark on this new adventure.
I also want to say, that I do not plan to eliminate overt fats completely for more then 90 days and may even return to some after 30 days, depending on how I am feeling. My goal is to try to stay free of all salt, sugar and oils for the long term.

Q & A Series: People, Products and The Health of Our Planet – Interview with Perry A~ : Founder of The Living Clay Company

My Comments

I have known for some time about clay for health and healing and also from the books that were translated by Michel Abeshera. I do not remember if I ever consumed clay at that time, but I did decide to try the calcium bentonite clay from The Living Clay Company last year and did a couple of videos on my YouTube channel. You can check them out here:

The Living Clay Company – All Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay: Part 1 Introduction

The Living Clay Co. – All Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay Part 2: Results

My YouTube video review of Perry A’s new book:
Book Review: Calcium Bentonite Clay by Perry A~ – Founder of The Living Clay Company

For the thirtieth interview, I have the pleasure of introducing you to Perry A~ The Clay Lady founder of The Living Clay Company

Question #1: Tell me briefly about yourself and why you decided to get involved in the “health” industry?

Perry A’s background is as diverse as the clay she loves talking about. From city girl to country girl and points in between, the lifelong Texan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas Tech University. Her background in chemistry, biology and veterinary science contributes to her knowledge base for understanding the intricate workings of clays. At Texas Tech she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority and was on the university’s rodeo team and was the 1958 Texas Tech Rodeo Queen. In 1959 she was selected by her peers as the first woman to win Texas Tech’s prestigious “Aggie of the Year Award”.

After graduating, she married her college sweetheart, had two daughters and lived in the small farming community of Seymour, Texas. The marriage ended after 27 years, and her first job as a probation officer opened her eyes to the fact that she could motivate people and decided to become a motivational speaker. For more than 20 years, she has been taking audiences on a roller coaster ride of tears and laughter that ultimately results in a truly joyous and inspirational experience. As the world’s only Dessert Analyst, her incredible philosophies will show you how to find the opportunities in every obstacle and motivate you to turn problems into possibilities. Perry A’s hilarious stories of life-lessons learned will have you doubled over with laughter even as they open your awareness to new, more prosperous ways of thinking and living life.

From heart-wrenching to fallout laughing story-telling and Cajun humor, Perry A~ instantly changes your perceptions about life and people. Experience instant personality assessments with her remarkable spot on dessert analysis. That’s right! Everything you need to know about a persons’ personality style is boldly in their dessert choice. Can visualizing people as desserts help you to digest them easier? You bet your whip cream it can. Take the edge off personality conflicts with People Are Just Desserts.

She became a student of clays in the early 1990s after being introduced to a green Calcium Bentonite Clay. Her passion and curiosity led her away from her speaking career and on a new journey of research and discovery into the amazing healing potential of Calcium Bentonite Clays. She has been an advocate for this clay ever since. She is the founder of the Living Clay Company which sold in June of 2015 to Nutraceutical, LLC. In her second clay book, Calcium Bentonite Clay: Nature’s Pathway to Healing, she simplifies complex chemistry and research data while introducing readers to the intriguing properties of Calcium Bentonite Clay. She has an extensive library of science journals and reference books and is a member of the Clay Mineral Society. Today, she gives interviews and lectures about using and mixing clays, as well as writing articles, blogs and books on the subject. She maintains a free clay information website with a myriad of articles, testimonials, interviews, recipes as well as providing free webinars each month to answer questions about Bentonite Clay. To say that she is passionate about educating people to this age-old curative is an understatement.

In addition, Perry A~ encourages readers to challenge their long-held limiting beliefs about their bodies’ ability to heal. “After all,” she says, “a belief is just a thought you keep thinking, and body ALWAYS follows mind. Choose to believe that every day in every way, you are getting better and better and better.”

Being a people person, she loves the opportunities that being the “Clay Lady” have given her to connect with people. “Making new friends from all over the world is the most exciting and rewarding part for me,” she says. “A good clay will win friends and influences people. All I do is get it in or on people, and the clay does the rest. It is all about the results! After experiencing the marvels of clay, they become clay lovers for life.”

For lectures, interviews, book signings and questions, contact Perry A~ at 512-262-7187 or Sign up for Perry A’s free teleseminars and blogs and join the Bentonite Clay Yahoo Chat Group at To order the book, go to

Question #2: If you were stranded on a desert island and were allowed to take only 5 items with you (they can be food, books or specific products that are all health-related), what would they be and why?

1. Drinking water

2. Living Clay Detox Powder Clay

3. Fishing gear with a tackle box

4. An assortment of vegetable seeds

5. A shovel

I thinks most are obvious reasons. If you know about Bentonite Clay you will understand its wide range of healing potential from healing wounds, insect bites, snake bites, food poisoning, burns, sunburn blocker, skin irrations, internal detoxing and alkalization, a natural analgesic for pain, and its ability to make amino acids, peptide chains, proteins and vitamins the body maybe deficient in that are not even in the clay.

Question #3: What one message do you want to share with the people of this world that is crucial for their ultimate well-being and longevity?

Balance, moderation and common sense in all things.

Questions #4: If someone could afford to purchase only one product at this moment to start their journey towards better health (food or health-related), what would you recommend and why?

Living Clay Detox Powder Clay. Dry clay and water is all you need to make liquid clay and clay masks or mud for topical applications.

Question #5: Tell me more about your business/company and/or products you offer to the public to help them achieve optimal health and well-being?

I founded the original clay company in my garage and built the company from there changing names several times. In the fall of 2007 I took on a partner and together to form The Living Clay Company under ProClay, LLC and it sold in June of 2015. I am no longer associated with the company or their products but am still passionate about spreading the word about Calcium Bentonite Clay as an safe alternative to drugs for healing. I created a free information site With numerous articles, interviews, testimonials, a blog and provide free webinars each month on Q & A with Perry A~ on Calcium Bentonite Clay.

The only thing I have to sell is a new upgraded informative book Calcium Bentonite Clay: Nature’s Pathway to Healing at I decided to go with a publisher this time so have no authority to offer discounts. I do however have a CD on an interesting interview with The Power Hour that explains:

1:The Who, What and How of Clay
2:Detox, Cleanse, Poultices and Soaks
3:Call-ins and Testimonials

Question #6: What are your hopes/aspirations/dreams for the future health of the people and the planet?

I believe that most suffering is optional with Calcium Bentonitee Clay to balance, detox, stimulate and alkalize the body. Clay together with healthy eating and healthy alternatives to drugs is coming into our consciousness more and more. People are going back to producing their own food. The tide is turning to the need and desire for putting more effort and knowledge in maintaining a healthy state of well being. I believe and hold the vision of returning to sanity in protecting our planet and our future health.

Question #7: Who is your greatest hero and why?

Dr. Wayne Dyer. He walked his talk both spiritually and health wise and was a humanitarian giver and always encouraged upcoming speakers sharing the podium with newbies.

Question #8: Is there anything else you would like to share with the public?

Life happen for you not to you. Believe in yourself. You are so deserving by your birthright alone. Push the edge of your potential as you know it. There is more to come.

Question #9: I know that there are variables as to how much food/calories each person consumes (based on many lifestyle factors, etc), but is there a basic guideline you would recommend for everyone?

Again balance and moderation in all things. Being aware of the protein and vitamins and minerals needed in a healthy diet. Eating slowly and leaving the table before you hit full. In a few minutes your tank will register full.

What Is Detox? From Hippocrates Health Institute

What Is Detox? From Hippocrates Health Institute

What is detox?

That is a word you will hear a lot while you are here at Hippocrates. Unfortunately, it is no secret that we live on a polluted planet today. The air, the land, the water, and the food are contaminated by the 85,000+ chemicals we humans have created over the last 200 years for whatever reason. Here is a list of the ten most common toxic chemicals that permeate our environment:

PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). Risks: Cancer, impaired fetal brain development.

Pesticides Risks: Cancer, Parkinson’s disease, miscarriage, nerve damage, birth defects.

Herbicides Risks: Cancer, heart disease, asthma, multiple sclerosis, diabetes.

Plastics Risks: Endocrine system damage (plastics chemically mimic hormones)

Formaldehyde Risks: Cancer, eye and respiratory tract irritation, headaches, dizziness, visual disorders, and memory impairment.

Dioxins Risks: Cancer, reproductive and developmental disorders, chloracne (a severe skin disease with acne-like lesions), skin rashes, skin discoloration, excessive body hair, mild liver damage.

Asbestos Risks: Cancer, scarring of the lung tissue, mesothelioma (a rare form of cancer).

Heavy Metals (lead, mercury, etc.) Risks: Cancer, neurological disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, foggy head, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, decreased production of red and white blood cells, abnormal heart rhythm, damage to blood vessels.

Chloroform Risks: Cancer, potential reproductive damage, birth defects, dizziness, fatigue, headache, liver and kidney damage.

Chlorine Risks: Sore throat, coughing, eye and skin irritation, rapid breathing, narrowing of the bronchi, wheezing, blue coloring of the skin, accumulation of fluid in the lungs, pain in the lung region, severe eye and skin burns, lung collapse, reactive airways dysfunction syndrome (RADS) (a type of asthma).

The human body is perfectly capable of dealing with limited exposure to many of these toxins within a given time frame. However, once you come into contact with and ingest more of these toxins than you can cope with, your body has no choice but to store those toxins until a later date when hopefully you clean up your act. Typically, these toxins are stored in fat cells but they may also be stored in your muscles, organs, and other tissues.

So, maybe it’s been a long time since some of you have eaten:
• 100% organic
• 100% plant-based
• 100% raw
• 50% living foods (sprouts)

Each of these four protocols is extremely important in and of itself. When you combine all four of these protocols as you will here in the Hippocrates Life Transformation Program, you come up with a super-charged package for enabling the body to restore its own natural vibrant health. Plus, you are drinking purified water while you are here on campus. You are on a fragrance-free and a chemical-free campus. We use salt and ozone to clean the pool and Jacuzzi waters and keep them pure. We have scalar energy devices hidden throughout the campus to protect you from harmful electromagnetic radiation, Wi-Fi, routers, and cell phones.

Your body thanks you for your pure diet and pure environment by cleaning house first. That means getting rid of stored toxins. These toxins can make a little trouble on their way out. Detoxification manifests itself in different ways depending upon your history.

Detox symptoms can include:
• Tiredness
• Headache for no apparent reason
• Nausea
• Joint/muscle aches and pain
• Pimples, rash or other skin eruptions
• Temporary cold- or flu-like symptoms
• Emotional

Whether or not a person experiences detox symptoms and the severity depends on many factors – previous diet, exposure to environmental toxins, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, prescription drugs, stress, sleep patterns, etc. This is exactly the same effect as the more familiar “withdrawal” some people experience when trying to come off of certain addictions such as alcohol, cigarettes or drugs. And, it happens for exactly the same reason.

You eliminate toxins through four channels: breath, skin, urine and bowels. When you fast, or eat 100% organic, plant-based, raw, and living foods the body has extra energy. It uses that extra energy to push the toxins out of the body quickly. When the toxins start coming out faster than you can eliminate them through the normal channels we commonly get a detox reaction. The best way to reduce or eliminate detox symptoms is to give these four channels a little help. Here are some of the methods that we can use to accomplish that:

• Drinking lots of purified water and fresh green drinks
• Drinking fresh wheatgrass juice
• Rebounding
• Breathing exercises
• Yoga
• Exercise (any form)
• Infrared sauna
• Steam room
• Anything that makes you sweat a great deal (Jacuzzi, regular sauna, etc.)
• A very warm Epsom salts bath
• A very warm powdered ginger bath
• Lymphatic massage
• Enemas and colon hydrotherapy

If you use some or all of these protocols you will reduce or completely eliminate any uncomfortable detox reaction. As a last ditch effort eating a handful of raw soaked nuts or seeds or having some toasted Manna bread will also slow down the detox reaction.

Chlorella, blue-green algae, and LifeGive® Internal Cleanser are three supplements that can also reduce the negative side effects of detox. The reward for working through this process and getting all the toxins out is a new, vibrant, radiant, and healthy you! Come to Hippocrates to detox and experience new levels of health you never thought possible.

Why Sea Vegetables? by Brian Hetrich, Greenhouse Manager at Hippocrates Health Institute

From The Garden by Brian Hetrich, Greenhouse Manager at HHI – Hippocrates Health Institute

Why Sea Vegetables?

Sea vegetables are more commonly known as seaweed. They grow in salt water oceans all over the world. There are thousands of different types of sea vegetables, which are classified into categories by color, known either as brown, red or green sea vegetables. Each is unique, having a distinct shape, taste and texture. A wide range of sea vegetables are enjoyed as foods. This includes Kelp, nori, dulse, wakame, arame, Irish moss, kombu, hiziki, and many more.

Sea vegetables are among the World’s healthiest foods because of their incredibly rich mineral content and other unique health benefits. Sea vegetables are exploding with nutrients, including: Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K. They are rich in minerals like iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, iodine, sodium, potassium, silica, germanium, and phosphorus to name just a few. Sea vegetables also contain Proteins, Fiber, Carotenes, Enzymes, Oxygen, Phytonutrients, and Phytohormones.

The use of sea vegetables for food is not a new concept. Archaeological evidence suggests that Japanese cultures have been consuming sea vegetables for thousands of years. In ancient Chinese cultures, sea vegetables were a noted delicacy, suitable especially for honored guests and royalty. In fact, most regions and countries located by waters, including Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Iceland, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and coastal South American countries have been consuming sea vegetables since ancient times. And they taste great!

Most food produced for commercial distribution on factory farms are on a life support fertilizer usually consisting of just three nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The other 95 minerals needed for good human health such as iron, calcium, copper, zinc, and magnesium, are missing. Minerals are missing from our foods because of soil depletion. As a result, the ocean is now the most fertile area for plants to grow. Sea vegetables absorb these minerals and convert them into a living form that our bodies can recognize and utilize.

Only plants, including sea vegetables, can convert dead, inorganic mineral compounds into living, organic mineral compounds that can be assimilated by the human body. When you supply the body with all the necessary raw materials to reconstruct tissues and organs correctly, everything gets better. All your organs, tissues, cardiovascular system, neurological system, and immune system get stronger and function with greater efficacy. Every aspect of your physical, mental, and spiritual health will improve when you supply the body with an adequate supply of the correct nutrients and remove toxins from your environment. That includes brain function, energy levels, physical appearance, and vitality.

Dulse is a popular one at Hippocrates. It is a delicious purple sea vegetable harvested off the Atlantic coasts for the U.S., Canada, and British Isles. It is rich in trace minerals and as a condiment, gives a slightly salty flavor to your other foods. Two tablespoons gives you many times the US RDA of iodine, which is just one of the highly desirable rare minerals contained in dulse. Iodine is an essential component of the thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones regulate many important biochemical reactions, including protein synthesis and enzymatic activity, and are critical determinants of metabolic activity. They are also required for proper skeletal and central nervous system development in fetuses and infants. Sea vegetables are able to accumulate iodine many times more concentrated than sea water alone!

And people need it now more than ever. Sea vegetables protect the body from radiation exposure by attacking radiation and neutralizing it. Sea vegetables also protect the thyroid against the damaging effects of fluoride, and they boost your immune system. About two tablespoons a day is all that an adult needs, and one tablespoon a day for children.

While fresh is always best, sea vegetables are very tough for general use when fresh. They are typically eaten in small quantities finely chopped or powdered. Larger pieces are commercially distributed in dried form which should be soaked in warm water for 10-20 minutes until they are soft enough to slice – this also removes some of the excess salt. Discard the soak water because it has an extremely high salt content. The drained sea vegetable can then be dried in a dehydrator until it is crunchy.

Since sea vegetables detox, I also recommend drinking copious amounts of pure, filtered water – at least ½ ounce of pure, filtered water for every pound of body weight per day. A squeeze of a fresh lemon wedge will alkalize you and help you to absorb the water more efficiently.

I use kelp and dulse as a garnish on my salad or I use them in homemade salad dressing to give a salty flavor. I use nori sheets to make raw vegan “sushi” wraps. Or, in powder form, I sprinkle a little kelp or dulse powder on my salad or I use them in homemade salad dressing to give a salty taste to my meals. I eat a lot of sprouts, a land vegetable, as well, because sprouts are live foods.

Here are some specific health benefits attributed to sea vegetables:

Helps remove radioactive particles and heavy metals from the body
Rejuvenate gastrointestinal health and aid digestion
Blood purifier
Relieves arthritis stiffness
Promotes adrenal, pituitary and thyroid health
Normalizes thyroid-related disorders like overweight and lymph system congestion
A demulcent that helps eliminate herpes outbreaks
A decongestant for excess mucous
Helps normalize blood pressure
Powerful skin healing
Helps reduce breast and uterine fibroids and adhesions
Normalize menopausal symptoms
Promotes soft, toned, wrinkle-free skin
Enhances glossy hair and prevents its loss
An excellent adrenal stimulant
Recovery from arthritis
Recovery from gout
Effective in combating the herpes virus
Valuable for increased intimacy
Boosts metabolism
Strengthens hair, skin and nails

Q & A Series: People, Products and The Health of Our Planet – Interview with Marco Ramirez; Sales Manager of Living Clay Company

My Comments:. I found this company at Expo West 2015 in Anaheim, CA. I spoke with a woman, Cindy P. who was helping out in the booth and she was very knowledgeable on the Living Clay and has been using it for her own health challenges, with very successful results. I decided that I wanted to try it out myself, along with some of their other products. I contacted the company and they were amenable to sending me samples to review. Check out below for the link to my youtube channel where I will have 2 videos posted: an introduction to Living Clay and my review.

For the twenty-fifth interview, I have the pleasure of introducing you to
Marco Ramirez, Sales Manager of The Living Clay Company in business since 2008.

Question #1: Tell me briefly about yourself and why you decided to get involved in the “health” industry?

After being an acid indigestion sufferer for years and not finding any relief with traditional medications, I was introduced to clay. After taking my first swing of clay, I had the best burp of my life feeling instant relief and my life was changed! I also used to have really bad back acne, probably for the same reasons I was suffering from the acid indigestion, but I noticed that after taking clay for about a week, my skin completely cleared up without actually putting any clay on my back! This was my “come to clay moment”. After learning more about clay and realizing the power of balancing and detoxing the body, I was hooked and I made it a personal mission to help spread the word of this amazing natural substance. Six years later, I’m now the Sales Manager for the company.

I asked Marco to expand a bit more on when he started using the clay and what protocol he used at first and what he does know. This overlaps some with the information above.

I have been drinking clay since 2009, almost every day. It’s the first thing I drink every morning when I get up. I don’t really measure any more, I just take a swig from the bottle until I feel I’ve had enough. I was introduced to clay because I was a 24/7 acid indigestion sufferer. At the same time I was suffering from the indigestion, I used to get really bad back acne, probably for the same reasons I was getting the acid reflux, poor diet, stress, etc. I took my first sip and about 5 seconds later, I had the most glorious burp of my life! After taking the clay consistently for the first 3-4 days, my back completely cleared up without actually putting anything on my skin. And this was my “ah ha” moment. Once I was able to achieve balance in my gut, the rest of my body started to follow suit. Since then, I’ve taken clay pretty consistently, usually consisting of one dose of the Liquid Clay (about 2oz). Every now and then when I feel that I may be getting out of balance or overly acidic, I’ll get on our recommended protocol which is 2oz of liquid in the morning, 2oz at night, for a two week period. Once I’ve gone through these “focused detoxes”, I’ll switch back to taking a single serving a day. I’ve really just learned to listen to my body to determine how often and how much clay I should be taking. There’s really no wrong way to use clay. Just get it in you and on you and you’ll start to see and feel the difference.

Question #2: If you were stranded on a desert island and were allowed to take only 5 items with you (they can be food, books or specific products that are all health-related), what would they be and why?

1) Living Clay Detox Clay Powder – to mix into a cleansing clay mask for application on any external skin irritation (bug bites, cuts, scrapes, sun burn, etc.) or for mixing into Liquid Clay for internal detox in case anything I ate on the island happened to be toxic to my body. This would be my go-to First Aid kit!
2) A knife – for hunting, spearing, or to form other tools I may need.
3) A water filtering canteen – to help purify my drinking water.
4) A net – finding food may be hard, but being able to catch fish out of the water could be a life saver!
5) A surfboard – if I’m going to be stranded on an island I may as well enjoy it!

Question #3: What one message do you want to share with the people of this world that is crucial for their ultimate well-being and longevity?

Be kind, be happy, and be positive! The universe will take care of everything else.

Questions #4: If someone could afford to purchase only one product at this moment to start their journey towards better health (food or health-related), what would you recommend and why?

Detox Clay Powder – can be mixed for internal and external use. As they say, all health begins in the gut. By taking the clay internally, clay can help cleanse the intestinal tract and promote balance. Once this is achieved, the rest of the body will follow suit. By using clay externally, you can help pull toxins through the pores of the skin and help the body’s natural process of elimination. If you can balance a body and get the toxins out of the system, a balanced, detoxed body is better at healing itself!

Question #5: Tell me more about your business/company and/or products you offer to the public to help them achieve optimal health and well-being.

We began The Living Clay Co. with a basic mission: To educate the world on the vast benefits of Calcium Bentonite – Living Clay®, and a simple vision: To provide the highest quality clay-based products to enhance our customers’ quality of life. We take the word “quality” very seriously and have set ourselves apart from our few competitors in several key ways. We are the first source manufacturer of human-use Bentonite to have publicly published our product’s Quality Control Specifications on our website. And, in keeping the consumer’s value of product integrity foremost in our minds, we integrated selective processes extending from the mining and milling of our Bentonite clay in its pure and unprocessed form (e.g., non-heat purified or irradiated) through to its packaging and formulation procedures. For too long, other companies had been sourcing industrial-grade clays, processing them by means that limited their effectiveness, and then selling them as Dietary Supplements. In keeping with our education-first mission, we have worked to bring Bentonite Clay into the world-wide conversation regarding health and wellness. The Living Clay Co. is proud to offer the finest quality natural clay skin care products for our customers who are looking for a way to use fewer toxic chemicals in their skincare routine and detox naturally, inside and out.

Question #6: What are your hopes/aspirations/dreams for the future health of the people and the planet?

That we are all one. Not only with each other, but also with the planet we live on. If we want to see a healthy change, we must start treating each other, and the world we live on, like we would treat ourselves.

Question #7: Who is your greatest hero and why?

Mother Nature, because everything we have is because of her. All the many gifts we receive, even life itself, is given by her. In the words of the great Alex Trebek, “If you can’t be in awe of Mother Nature, there’s something wrong with you.”

Some additional questions I asked Marco:

Can I use the Face & Body Scrub daily?

To answer your question about Face & Body Scrub, yes, it can absolutely be used daily. The scrub is different than the Cleansing Clay Mask in that it is designed to be more of your daily cleanser where the mask is more for the deep pore treatment a couple of times a week. The scrub is applied for maybe 2-3 minutes and then rinsed off immediately where the mask is to be left on 20-30 min or until dried completely, then rinsed off. How often you can use either of these really depends on your skin type. If you have oilier skin, you may be able to use them more often. Drier skin types
might space uses out a bit or use a great natural moisturizer like our Rejuvenation Face Cream after application of either Face & Body Scrub or Cleansing Clay Mask.

How long before or after eating is best to consume the liquid clay so have on an empty stomach?

It really depends on what you’re using it for. If you’re using clay for detox and cleansing purposes, it’s best to take it on an empty stomach. It’s a lot easier to wash the car when you’re not driving it through the mud at the same time. It’s possible, but you’re cleanse might not be as effective when taking clay with food. However, if you are taking clay for it’s alkalizing ability, then taking it with food may be the suggestion. For example, if I’m going to go out and eat hot wings, a food that usually would give me acid reflux, I preface that meal with clay to help balance the over-acidity I might experience. But on a simpler note, waiting to take the clay about 30-45 before or after a meal is usually the most effective way to take clay internally. There’s no wrong way to take clay, there’s just more effective ways to take it.
